  7. fashion model and showgirl, Goddard starred with her husband
  8. Charlie Chaplin in the 1936 silent classic Modern Times. Other
  9. memorable roles include the laundry girl in Chaplin's The Great
  10. Dictator and the spirited social climber in Jean Renoir's The
  11. Diary of a Chambermaid. She was also married to the actor
  12. Burgess Meredith and novelist Erich Maria Remarque.
